![]() So as not to make this the catch-all for AppleScript deprecation posts, we've created an announcement post where we'd direct everyone. We highly recommend that you read the blog post on AppleScript deprecation as it has some really good information in it about converting from AppleScript to Python. So here's your first official AppleScript deprecation warning: Indigo will no longer support AppleScript beyond the upcoming Indigo 7.1 release. We've been quite open for many years (since Indigo 5 was released on in fact) that AppleScript is legacy Indigo technology and will go away eventually. ![]() It would take a massive effort to move to the server to the Cocoa AppleScript framework - effort which we will be spending on further Python plugin and scripting capabilities. We use the Carbon API library for AppleScript, and it will not be updated by Apple to support 64-bit only OS releases. The server isn't, primarily for a single reason: AppleScript. The Mac Client and the Indigo Plugin Host processes are already 64-bit. We're still testing with High Sierra and we'll keep everyone posted. Of course, we always recommend waiting for several bug fix releases before upgrading - common sense for a Mac that's running mission-critical server software like Indigo. ![]() Apps delivered through the App store have some more firm deadlines, but that's not relevant for Indigo. Never fear - we plan to continue to support the latest macOS releases as they arrive. I truly wish I could be nicer about Indigosoftware but it seems they're not standing behind their product, and since my first and only transaction with them turned out this bad my only advice is to not do any business with these folks.Relax, 32-bit apps will still work on High Sierra - it's releases after that which may require 64-bit. I really do hope Amazon Pay is going to ban them from using their payment service, and to others looking for new legit software: Please refrain from doing business with this company, unless you want get scammed 3. Per AP they will be taking care of the issue until it is resolved so I don't expect I will need to use that option. The people who run Indigo Software are preying on consumers. Per suggestions from appleflaxen and slimshxvdy I could ask for the chargeback from the CC company, but I'll keep that in my back pocket for when I really need it. Any way, AP is following up on this again so let's see what happens. In my case, no reaction from Indigo (neither me or AP), so they're playing the quiet game and hope this goes away. AP then told me that vendors typically respond within 2-3 business days to fix what went wrong. They sent Indigo an email (I have copy) to resolve this issue asap. Update: I am currently going through Amazon Pay (AP) to get this issue resolved. I really do hope Amazon Pay is going to ban them from using their payment service, and to others looking for new legit software: Please refrain from doing business with this company, unless you want get scammed! The people who run Indigo Software are preying on consumers. I sent a complaint to Amazon Pay and will move forward with a refund from my CC. Long story short it seems these crooks took my money without delivering the product they promised. You'll never be able to speak to a live person. Their automated phone system is set up so it redirects you to contacting them by email or a web form on their website. I continued to email them back, and attempted to speak to someone, but all to no avail. Guess what, that one did never work and has already been used before. A few emails later I finally get my first (and only) response that I should use the license key from the original email to activate Windows. Windows prompts me with a message that this license key has been used before. Within the next 5 minutes I tried to activate my Windows 10 and guess what: "Unable to activate Windows". ![]() Well, I should have known better.Īfter a payment transaction via Amazon Pay, I received an email with license key. They seemed legit a veteran run company, partnered with Amazon Pay, and listed at the BetterBusinessBureau (BBB) with good ratings, and nothing else that threw a red flag. Despite my online research of their company I was scammed. In your endeavor, please avoid they'll take your money and run. I only can imagine many people are currently looking to upgrade to Windows 10 since Microsoft is pulling the plug on Windows 7. ![]()
